Given the dedicated collective efforts by our fellow Nova Scotians to exercise extreme intervention measures against Covid, there’s a strong likelihood that Nova Scotians will soon be enabled to enjoy the luxury of get-aways within our home province. “The safest place to be if you’re hoping to enjoy a vacation this summer is within the safeness offered by a
private vacation rental property”

LazyTide affords the ideal escape into Nova Scotia’s Ocean Playground.. [30 km from downtown Dartmouth].

LazyTide offers accommodations for three persons, plus electrical hook-up on oceanfront site for our guests to extend their ‘safe bubble’ to enjoy with immediate associates with an RV [at an additional cost of $50/da.]

This oceanfront property offers premium physical distancing for guests to soak-up the ocean breeze, swimming in the beach cove, kayaking between the inlets & islands, fishing off the docks, bicycling, hiking & ATVing though endless trails, surfing & boogie-boarding on our near-by Martinique Beach… and includes a private boat launch for guests to further ‘break-away’ by boat upon our ocean Eastern Shore shore.

Given our strictness with respect to full sanitation by professional cleaners of every nook & cranny within the home, LazyTide offers a safe haven for local ocean-side vacationing, work from home, and self-quarantine purposes.

Plan your vacation ‘break-out’ now – reserve your stay-near-to-home sea-side vacation with LazyTide.

Should travel restrictions remain in place, necessitating that Nova Scotians to continue to ‘stay-in-place’, and to not venture beyond immediate vicinity, no worries! You only need to cancel your vacation reservations.

The LazyTide property is currently unavailable for long and short-term bookings.
The next opportunity will be Fall of 2022. If you would like to inquire about future bookings

About The Space

Encompassing the north-west cove of Petpeswick Inlet resides the LazyTide coastal property. In early 1900s LazyTide was home to a thriving clam factory. Later, in the fifties, LazyTide was transformed into the infamous LazyTide Dance Hall, as the social hub of the entire Eastern Shore. Following those rollicking times, LazyTide has remained largely fallow – until present!

Welcome to LazyTide, an all-season getaway destination, two bedroom ocean-front home, where rollicking times are still to be had .. though no dance hall bar or boot-legging on-site!

A 25-minute jaunt from Dartmouth, along Highway 107, brings you directly into the scenic village of Musquodoboit Harbour. LazyTide is a short stroll to/from the village, where more delights await, including restaurants, specializing in fresh seafood, Mediterranean dishes & pizza shops, an historic train station museum, art galleries, gift shops, a mouth-watering bakery/cafe with WiFi, pharmacy, bank, library, fully-equipped gym, new Tim Horton’s gas/food center, as well as our very own beer craft brewery.

Just a 10-minute drive down the coast from LazyTide is Nova Scotia’s longest expanse of white-sand beach. Our Martinique Beach is also a world class surfing destination, even throughout the winter months! The scenery along the winding coastline and through rolling farmlands of the Musquodoboit River Valley are always breath-taking whether toured by car or by bike. Numerous hiking, biking and ATV trails, provincial parks and heritage sites are within the immediate surrounds, as well as a nearby equestrian centre offering ‘English’ riding lessons and trail riding.

The LazyTide vacation property includes several on-site amenities: a private drive-in launch for guests to bring along their boat or sea-do. A kayak and bicycle with helmet & life-jackets are there for guests to enjoy [at their own risk]. A BBQ awaits sizzling steaks, while a large sit-around fire pit invites marshmallow-roasting under the stars. The ocean-side observation deck offers panoramic harbour viewing and ‘sighing into the sunsets’. A tiny crescent beach is a few meters down the cove where the harbour waters are exceptionally warm from early summer, well into autumn – great for swimming/snorkelling, though not in the winter! Another 7 km down the road is the charming East Petpeswick government wharf where folks can drop a fishing line for mackerel and sea trout, while enviously observing the ‘real catch-of-the-day’ brought in on the local fishing boats. Arrange with local seafarers for boat trips to explore the sea-coast or to fish off the shoals.

Additionally, the LazyTide property will very shortly be offering guests the opportunity to bring along friends with a RV. Full electrical hook-up on two lots with scenic views can be reserved by our guests at an extra charge.

It should be noted that LazyTide is not a summer cottage. It is a brand-new, all season, fully equipped residence, with air conditioning and high speed internet. The entire residence envelopes an abundance of bright natural light. Roiling sea storms only enhance the viewing pleasure. Aside from the obvious delights that are availed throughout the warmer months, our guests might well-imagine a ‘get-away’ Christmas or a wintertime escape, tucked within the warm ambiance, full-home conveniences and affordability that LazyTide offers.

Moreover, because landscaping on this new vacation property is a work-in-progress, which will be only completed by May 2020, LazyTide is presently available at a reduced offering of $150/night. Any advanced bookings at this current rate will be honoured until then.

Petpeswick Inlet

The community was settled in the 1780s mainly by Loyalists. Through the late 18th and early 19th centuries many settlers from Scotland, England and Germany immigrated to the area and they still have descendants in the area, evidenced by prominent family names such as Tibbo, Rowlings, Anderson, Gaetz, and Bayers.
